Kicker is reporting that German Club Mainz has bought US U-20 midfielder Jared Jeffrey from Belgium’s Club Brugge. Jeffrey was a member of Brugge’s first team, but had yet to appear in a league match.

Why did I think Jared Jeffrey was black? I watched every one of our u-20 games, and remember being somewhat impressed with him (at least compared to some of the other train wrecks on that team). And he was black in my head. Consider my world rocked. Have not been this shell shocked since my discovery that Clarence Goodson was a white.
